SCHOLARSHIPS

UNDERGRADUATE

Information about general UM domestic scholarships can be found at the UM financial aid office.

Language Flagship

Flagship Scholarship funding provides tuition for courses taken in Arabic over the course of the academic year. Scholars need to file the FAFSA form (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) in order to be eligible for the scholarship. These disbursements will be made directly to your student account to offset your tuition costs.

Apply now for the undergraduate Arabic Language Flagship program and scholarship.

Overseas

The Language Flagship Program offers competitive scholarships to fund summer and/or full year study abroad in Alexandria, Egypt.

UM bases award of overseas study scholarships on language proficiency examination results and academic performance evaluation by UM Arabic faculty.

Applicants to undergraduate Flagship programs may  also apply for David L. Boren Scholarships, SMART grants, the Academic Competitive Grants Program, and others.

GRADUATE

Unfortunately, due to the discontinuation of federal funding, the Graduate Flagship program will be discontinued and the University of Maryland will not offer an MPS or Certificate in Arabic Studies for the upcoming 2012-2013 academic year. We are hoping to develop an alternative MPS program with a study abroad component for future students. Please continue to check our website for program developments and updates.
