New Books about Israel by UMD Faculty and Students:

Professor Eric Zakim's To Build and Be Built: Landscape, Literature, and the Construction of Zionist Identity analyzes how poetry helped create an image of Palestine as fit for Zionist agricultural and political settlement during the early part of the 20th century.

In Sticking to Israel: Israeli Society Through Bumper Stickers, UMCP undergraduate Elan Katz Mosbacher has put together a fascinating collection of images of Israeli political stickers, the kind that populate the streets of Israel, giving us an exciting look into the political world of everyday life on the streets.
