Spend your fall semester exploring a vibrant European capital!
Study at the Freie Universität Berlin (Free University of Berlin), through the FU-BEST program. Combine intensive German language instruction (beginning students welcome) with a FU-BEST content course, in addition to two semester-long courses with Maryland's Resident Faculty Director.

Summer promises to be a great time to be in Lüneburg. Several of the city's festivals occur during the summer, including the Lüneburg City Festival in June. Germany, along with the rest of the world, will be gearing up for the World Cup, with lots of "public viewing events" in Lüneburg and Hamburg. Several great field trips have already been organized by the international office; the Optional Berlin Tour will include visits to the Reichstag Building and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Other outings and events already on the calendar include: a tour to the former border between West and East Germany, several movie nights, band/music festivals and concerts, and two beach excursions. Courses offered this summer will include German language study, Gender Roles: International Perspectives, The Expanded European Union, Government and Politics in Germany, and The Cold War: United States, Germany, and the Soviet Union, taught by Visiting Professor Dr. John McNay (University of Cincinnati).
Freie Universität Berlin: This exciting program allows students the option of staying in Berlin for a full semester or a full year.

University of Tübingen:Language proficiency required for semester and year applicants.
The Tübingen summer program consists of the dual-degree program in Engineering and German. Engineering majors may spend six months studying the German language and completing an internship with an engineering company or working in university labs (spring semester).
