Medeival Literature and Culture; Foreign Language Methodology

Professor Strauch's research and teaching interests include German Medieval literature and culture; race, class, culture and gender in Medieval texts; Medieval women writers, and Medieval Crusade literature. In pursuit of these research areas, she considers the concept of otherness as it is reflected in the representation of literary figures outside the societal norms prevalent in German literary texts of the Middle Ages.
