The AT&T Language Lab (JMZ 1205) is a multimedia instructional facility equipped with 20 Pentium IV student workstations and one faculty workstation. The faculty workstation display can be projected onto a large overhead screen via ceiling projector. Laptop displays can also be displayed similarly when connected to the system via VGA cable(If you use a mac laptop it is likely that it does not have a VGA port. Independent Study Lab

Our independent Study Lab is located In Jimenez Hall room 2224 right next to the Spanish Department. Three 21" televisions in the lab are connected to their own Multiregion/Multisystem DVD/VCR combos which are located downstairs in the Language Media Services Main office. Students and Faculty may view video in the Independent Study Lab by requesting it at LMS. An LMS staffer will put the requested material in the player and provide you with a remote control (Students must leave their Student ID to get a remote) to control playback. Headphones are connected to each terminal for the courtesy of the other Lab patrons.

Also located in the room are two Dell PCs equipped with headphone/microphones for use with WIMBA blackboard voice tools. One of the PCs is also equipped with a scanner.

Portable Audio Lab

The Sanako Portable Audio Lab is a Portable listening/recording device that allows instructors to record individual feedback from students for later review. The lab consists of a large hard drive for audio storage connected to a laptop to run the Sanako audio lab monitoring software. 20 stations are connected to the storage for student use. An instructor may play an audio exercise for their students, and thanks to the Portable audio lab, the students can listen to that audio at their station at their own pace, and even record their responses to it all at once without disturbing one another. To book the PAL for your class please contact the LMS Supervisor (PAL may only be booked for classes in Jimenez hall).
