Graduate Flagship
The Graduate Flagship Program is collaboration between 4 institutions. The program is funded by the Language Flagship. The University of Maryland and the American Councils for International Education are the academic institutions affiliated with the Flagship program. Flagship fellows spend one year in the stateside program followed by a year overseas in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. The IIE administers the funding for both components of the Flagship experience.
Consideration for the Graduate Persian Flagship Program and Fellowship Funding is a three part process:
- Application and admission to University of Maryland Persian Masters of Professional Studies Program. (Stateside portion of the Flagship program).
*Applicants for stateside only MPS at UMD, who are NOT seeking funding:
-Complete Step 1 only. Deadline for application is March 15.
- Application to and approval by the IIE fellowship program.
- Application and provisional admission to the American Councils overseas program portion.
In order to be eligible for a Fellowship, applicants must commit to complete both the Stateside and Overseas portions of the Flagship program and fulfill all other requirements listed on ( IIE url). Eligibility for both the Stateside and Overseas portions of the program is assessed at the time of initial application.
