Program Requirements: & Application Procedure;

  1. Must be enrolled in a degree program at the University of Maryland (UM Admissions)
  2. Have successfully completed PERS101 (or equivalent)
  3. Must submit completed Undergraduate Persian Flagship Program Application form
  4. Must submit supporting materials:
    University of Maryland Transcript (request transcript here)
    Waiver & Instructor Recommendation Form (download here)
  5. Must attend an individual advising session to complete a Program of Study with the UG flagship advisor
  6. For scholarship candidates only: Must have filed current year's FAFSA (UM's FAFSA code is 002103)

Graduate Flagship

Due to the discontinuation of federal funding, the Graduate Flagship program will be discontinued and the University of Maryland will not offer a Master of Professional Studies (MPS) or Graduate Certificate in Persian for the upcoming 2012-2013 academic year. We are hoping to develop an alternative MPS program with a study abroad component for future students. Please continue to check our Web site for program developments and updates.

Thank you to all 2012-2013 applicants for your interest. You will be refunded the University of Maryland Graduate application fee. Please contact the Office of Extended Studies, oes@umd.edu, for further questions or details about this refund.
