Application Deadline

• Application deadline for admission into the program for Fall 2008: January 18, 2008.
• Application deadline for full funding to the IIE for Fall 2008: January 18, 2008.
  

NB: Applicants need to make two separate applications if they intend to receive funding from the IIE: One to the University of Maryland Persian Flagship and one to the IIE. The IIE will consider those applicants who meet the academic requirements for admission into the Persian Flagship, as detailed below.

Eligibility

• A minimum level of Persian language proficiency equivalent to the ACTFL intermediate-mid (ILR Level 2) in listening, speaking, and reading as determined by University of Maryland testers.

• Minimum undergraduate and/or graduate GPA of 3.00 (on the 4.00 scale) or B.
• US citizenship required if applying for full funding from the Institute of International Education (IIE).

How To Apply

After the applicants have taken the language test, they need to apply through the University of Maryland’s Single Point of Contact Office (SPOC) (http://www.gradapply.umd.edu/disteduc/mpstlogin.html) and mail the necessary documents to the following address:
